Entelodont Fetch

A little drawing I made during the weekend. For some reason, I really like depicting scary predatory animals acting goofy.

Archaeotherium, an early member of the entelodont or 'terminator pig' lineage, is enjoying a game of fetch. Because why not. I tried giving the animal a wide mouth like that of canids to make it easier to cut meat and crush bones, and it ended up looking like it's grinning. So that's where the idea came from.

Apparently, the terminator pigs were not actually pigs. According to a 2009 phylogeny, they and Andrewsarchus were instead early members of the lineage that today holds whales, dolphins and hippoes. Evolution sure is weird.
