The second part of "Botany for paleoartists" is here. It's another dive into the modern diversity of ancient plant groups, with some details about their fossil record too. This time I'm talking about edible "fruit" before the time of flowering plants. The seeds of surprisingly many gymnosperm plants have fleshy, edible coatings that are for all practical purposes (though not botanically) fruit. These colourful and tasty plant bits are rarely depicted in paleoart.

You are really pushing the limits of depictions and information of ancient plants. They are so hard to come by and I admire that.
