Sharovipteryx of the late Triassic was the first known vertebrate to develop a gliding membrane - and the only one ever to use it's hind limbs as wings. This small diapsid reptile has been even suggested to be the ancestral pterosaur, altough I doubt it.

I want to thank NTamura for the inspiration. :)

The odd thing for me right now is that I just found picture right after having read about how nutty David Peters is... *sighs*

great pose! I love his spots - I can't see him. He's camouflaged. XD

That IS a nice drawing, alright.

Thanks!
Though as you probably noticed, it's far from perfect. The tail is too thick and the forelimbs too long and robust, to begin with. I'd like to draw an updated (and probably more accurate) version as soon as I have enough time.

Great work:D You inspired me to make my own Sharovipteryx, while Ntamura inspired you?

Thanks! =)
It was quite a challenge to make a creature with hind legs as wings, but I'm happy with the results. I think your version has more accurate proportions, still.
